Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 La Tour Figeac starts off a little shy, giving way to bright, vibrant scents of crushed black and red cherries, warm plums and wild blueberries with hints of violets, liquorice, wood smoke and garrigue. Full-bodied, it has a good amount of understated blue and black fruit in the mouth with rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with red fruit sparks.

Propriété de 14,6ha appartenant à Otto Rettenmaier. Élevage de 16 mois se déroulant dans 40% de fûts neufs et 60% de fûts d’un vin. Rouge grenat aux reflets violets. Bouquet élégant, invitant, aux notes épicées, florales et fruitées. Mise en bouche friande. Au palais, le vin est équilibré, légèrement crémeux et doté d’une structure tannique compacte et précise. Un vin agréable, délicat, que l’on pourra savourer dans sa jeunesse mais je pense qu’il dispose également d’un potentiel de vieillissement que l’on sous-estime. 2023-2038

Barrel Sample. A finely perfumed wine, this is rich in tannins that are smoothed by the wood aging. It is elegant in a spice tone and a dry core of tannins, balanced by blackberry flavours and fine acidity at the end.
